BeeCrow, LLC ("we", "us", or "our") operates Metro Chat (the "Service"). This privacy policy explains how we handle your data with our privacy-first offline messaging app.

1. Our Privacy Philosophy

Metro Chat is built on the principle that private conversations should stay private. We use peer-to-peer Bluetooth mesh networking, which means:

• No servers store your messages
• No internet connection required
• No accounts or registration needed
• Messages exist only on participating devices

2. Information We DON'T Collect

• Message content
• Who you communicate with
• Your location data
• Personal identifying information
• Contact lists

3. Information We MAY Collect

Anonymous Analytics (Optional)

With your consent, we may collect:

• App usage statistics (opens, feature usage)
• Crash reports for debugging
• Device type and iOS version

This data is anonymized and cannot be linked to you or your conversations.

Device Identifier

Metro Chat generates a random, anonymous identifier for your device to enable discovery by nearby users. This identifier:

• Is randomly generated on first launch
• Cannot be linked to your Apple ID or real identity
• Can be regenerated at any time in settings

4. How Bluetooth Messaging Works

When you send a message in Metro Chat:

1. Your message is encrypted on your device
2. Transmitted via Bluetooth to nearby devices
3. Relayed through the mesh network until it reaches the recipient
4. Decrypted only on the recipient's device

At no point does the message pass through our servers or the internet.

5. Third-Party Services

If you opt-in to analytics:

• Sentry - Anonymous crash reporting
• PostHog - Anonymous usage analytics

6. Permissions

Metro Chat requires:

• Bluetooth - Required for all messaging functionality
• Background Modes - To relay messages when app is backgrounded

7. Data Retention

Messages are stored locally on your device only. We have no ability to access, retrieve, or delete your messages. You can delete all local data by uninstalling the app.

8. Your Rights

• Use the app without providing any personal information
• Opt out of anonymous analytics
• Delete all local data at any time
• Regenerate your device identifier

9. Children's Privacy

Metro Chat is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
